These materials can be checked out at the service desk during service desk hours or at the self check machines with a valid NYU ID.
  • Items can be returned in person or via mail. Book bins are located by the library entrances as well as the book return drop slots at the service desk. Course reserve materials and white board marker loans must be returned to the service desk. If returning materials by mail please send to:

Provide digital and physical access to course materials

  • Course Reserves provides digital and physical access to course reserve materials.
  • Course Reserves has a digital-first policy. If we cannot fill a required reading request digitally we will place a physical item on reserve at the Circulation desk. Required course-related materials can be put on reserve for you by the Libraries staff.
  • Students can request assigned readings be added to Course Reserves so the material is available for everyone in the class. Use the Course Reserves Student Request Form to get started.
  • Instructors can always visit ares.library.nyu.edu to place Course Reserves requests.
  • If you’re requesting an item that’s assigned for a course, instead of desk delivery, you can ask for it to be added to course reserves so your entire class has access to it. Use the Course Reserves Student Request Form to get started.

Locker delivery and pick up service

  • As another delivery option, We provide locker delivery and pick up service. You may choose to have your items delivered to lockers located in Bobst Library (Floor 1, Southeast)
  • Items will be checked out to your library account before we put them in the locker. Anyone with NYU building access can pick up locker items for you.
  • When your items are ready, we will email you. The email will include the location and access instructions.
  • Please pick up your items within 5 days of receiving the email. We cannot provide extensions to the pickup window, but Circulation staff can move your item to the hold shelf if you need a longer pickup window. Books still in lockers after the 5 day time frame will be removed from your account and returned to stacks, offsite storage, or to the lending institution from which it came from. You may pick up items during building hours.
