Books and materials checked out from any NYU or Consortium library may be returned to most NYU-New York Libraries (except Law and Health Sciences).

For Interlibrary Loans, please return these items with their paperwork.

Return via Service Point

All library materials can be returned to the service point from which they were loaned.

  • Books and circulating Interlibrary Loan materials can be returned to a Circulation service point.

  • Avery Fisher Center (AFC) media materials can be returned to the AFC service point on the 7th floor of Bobst.

  • Laptop and equipment loans must be returned to the service point from which they were loaned.

Return via Book Drop

Note: Laptops and equipment cannot be returned via a drop bin.

Bobst Library Bins

  • Book drop bins are inside the building at the northeast corner of the 1st floor, before security.

  • Book drop bins are also available at the Circulation service point in the 1st floor atrium.

Media Return Bins (Bobst Only)

Due to the fragile nature of these items, only return music CDs, DVDs, and VHSs to the bins labeled AFC.

  • The AFC bin is inside Bobst Library at the northeast corner of the atrium next to the other book drop bins.

  • There is also a media return bin at the Avery Fisher Center (AFC) service point located through the center doors on the 7th floor of Bobst.

Dibner Library Bins

The Dibner book drop bin is in the lobby of 5 MetroTech Center, and is accessible from 7:00am to 11:00pm every day.
