I want to infuse the Libraries with creativity by supporting artists and exhibitions.
Student Artist-in-Residence Fund
The Student Artists-in-Residence program will provide an opportunity for an NYU student artist to participate in a year-long engagement with NYU librarians who will orient them to the academic library as a resource for creative practice and production. The program will give the student artist singular opportunities to access materials, technologies, and library specialists in media, data, digital humanities, and beyond, all to enhance their artistic practice and journey. The student will have the freedom to develop new work while supported by a stipend, build and execute an exhibit of their finished work, and enjoy engagement and exposure with the larger NYU and NYC community.
Community-Based Exhibitions Fund
The Community-Based Exhibitions fund will connect New Yorkers across the city to the NYU Libraries. This fund will support NYU students to work alongside Libraries’ staff, NYU alumni, and community groups to develop community-based exhibitions within the Libraries.
Spotlight on the Arts, Performance, and Humanities Fund
The Spotlight fund will allow the Libraries to develop an educational, performance, and experiential series for the NYU community that highlights the Libraries’ arts, performance, and humanities collections. The series will also celebrate the Libraries’ partnerships with arts, performance, and humanities departments and centers at NYU.
