The nine departments in Research and Research Services provide wide-ranging resources, services, and expertise to our communities. Research and Research Services departments work to sustain relationships with our communities so we can understand researcher needs, create networks of assistance, and evolve to support emerging methods, techniques, and technologies critical to research. We emphasize the unique role that Libraries play in the research enterprise and strive to help our NYU communities attain their research goals, create and discover new knowledge, and impact the world around them.

Institute of Fine Arts Library

Library services and collections to support the research and curricular needs of the Institute of Fine Arts, with services and materials focusing on subjects in Art History, Archaeology, and Conservation.

Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW)

Library services and collections to support ISAW faculty and students, particularly for Greek and Roman material culture and history; Papyrology; Egyptology; Mesopotamian Archaeology and Assyriology; Central Asia and Iran; and Early China.
