The Data Services Lab is located in the 5th floor Research Commons of Bobst Library and offers software supporting computationally-intensive research available to current NYU students, faculty, and staff.
Workstations
The Lab hosts 26 workstations with 32GB of memory and 2 high-end workstations. All workstations deploy Windows 10 and have the complete list of Data Services’ supported software installed. Because of the terms of the installed software licenses, the workstations can only be used by current NYU students, faculty, and staff (i.e., those with an active NetID).
Getting Access
- Users must login to our workstations with active NYU NetIDs.
- Workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis whenever the NYU Libraries stacks are open.
- Workstations can also be reserved by NYU students, faculty, and staff by using the reservation form.
- Users without reservations will be asked to relocate to another workstation when a computer has been reserved for project use.
- Patrons that are not using workstations for computationally-intensive research may be asked to relocate to make space for those that are.
Reservations
Data Services Lab computers can be reserved online.
Project Help
Software specialists are available in the lab at regular hours to help you at our Data Services service point on the south side of the space.
