Library Access Overview
Please note that each collection also has specific access requirements and procedures.

All library visitors must be sponsored by an NYU employee or faculty member before their visit as per the University’s visitor policy. NYU students may not sponsor visitors to the NYU Libraries.

Members of NYU Libraries-Affiliated Programs should follow the institution-specific instructions to gain access.

Access must be requested in advance. We cannot accommodate walk-in visitors.

Special Collections
NYU Special Collections
NYU Special Collections—Fales Library, Tamiment Library and Robert F. Wagner Archives, and University Archives—are by appointment only.

All researchers must create a Special Collections Research Account to request an appointment.

Appointments must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance.

Poly Archives and Special Collections
The Poly Archives and Special Collections held at Bern Dibner Library in Brooklyn are appointment only.

U.S. and U.N. Documents Collections
United States Government Documents and United Nations Documents collections held at Bobst Library are available for public use.
Appointments are required for researchers who are not students or faculty of NYU or Consortium Schools. Appointment requests should be made at least two weeks before the date you wish to visit.
