Workshops
Workshops are free, co-curricular and extra curricular sessions that are led by library staff and faculty that orient new and returning students, faculty, and staff to the library spaces, services, and systems, as well as the research process and research methods.
- Workshops are for the NYU community (all students, staff, and faculty).
- Sessions can be in person or online and are interactive. They can include activities, demos, and discussion.
- They support research, creativity, and wellbeing and aim to build confidence in navigating the research process, developing information literacy, and understanding academic libraries.
- They can include tactile and hands-on activities and can also support peer to peer research and studying.

These workshops are aimed at supporting research and wellbeing outside of the traditional classroom context. They expand and enhance the typical reference interaction that includes one-to-one research consultations.
Foundations fall into six themes:
- Introduction to Services, Spaces, and Collections
- Creativity and Wellbeing in Research
- Research Readiness
- Citation Management
- Critical Approaches To Library Research
- Using Unique Collections
