The four departments in Teaching, Learning, and Engagement (TLE) focus on ethical and critical teaching and learning practices. By offering services in undergraduate & graduate instruction, online instruction, instructional design, teaching and learning with technology, reference services, workshops, exhibitions, and events, TLE provides opportunities for experiential learning, on-demand instructional support, and user engagement activities. We work interdepartmentally within the Division of Libraries, with stakeholders across campus, and with community partners across NYC and the globe to remain responsive to criticality, and while proactively informing practices of anti-racism, inclusion, accessibility, equity, and diversity to our teaching and learning services.

Digital Studio

Digital Studio supports faculty, students, and staff in the creation, use, storage, and sharing of multimedia materials (video, audio, text, images) for their research, teaching, and learning.

External Engagement

External Engagement executes creative, educational, and community-building initiatives that connect NYU campuses and external communities to library resources and information scholarship through special events, exhibitions, internships and mentorships, and contemplative spaces.

Reference Services

Reference Services engages NYU library patrons at the Reference desk, in workshops, and via our Ask a Librarian 24/7 chat service in finding, navigating, and using resources, and tools to address their research needs.

Undergraduate & Instructional Services

Undergraduate & Instructional Services provides in-person, online, asynchronous instructional services and engagement and outreach services and campus groups that support undergraduate students.
