Berry, Ron
Executive Director, Educational Technology and Library Services (NYU Abu Dhabi Library)
The NYU Abu Dhabi Library provides resources needed for research and teaching and offers assistance in their use. The Library also supports academic technology needs and audio-visual services for academic, administrative and performance venues.
The Center for Academic Technology (CAT) is the one-stop-shop where NYU Abu Dhabi students, faculty, and staff can receive help with their academic technology needs.
The team supports students, faculty, and staff in using technology, software, and equipment for their teaching and research. This team also supports Brightspace, the university’s learning management system and provides classroom technology services on campus.
The Access Services department is responsible for overseeing the circulation of library materials, course reserves, EZ Borrow and Interlibrary Loan services.
The Acquisitions and Technical Services department oversees the procurement of all library print and electronic materials.
Archives and Special Collections materials are available to NYUAD students, faculty, and staff, as well as qualified researchers from the UAE and abroad. Our goal is to provide access to rare and unique primary source materials that support the teaching and research needs of students and faculty, and promote scholarship and interest in the history of the UAE, the Gulf, the Arabian Peninsula, and the wider region. In addition, Archives and Special Collections also houses the University Archives of NYUAD, collecting and preserving records that document the history and development of this campus.
The Center for Digital Scholarship (CDS) partners with faculty and students on the digital design, implementation, and circulation of their research. The CDS can shepherd digital projects from their inception to their eventual archival treatments, creating responsible lifespans for these projects and their related data. We work closely with our Archives and Special Collections unit to bring historic resources into the digital world, and to capture and archive new resources properly. The Center for Digital Scholarship is also co-host of the Winter Institute in Digital Humanities, an event aimed at researchers and educators interested in the intersection of technology and the humanities.
The Library Administration Team is responsible for the overall operations and long-term strategic planning of the Library.
The Audio-Visual Services Team provides audio visual infrastructure, architecture and event support across campus.
The Research Services team partners with faculty, staff and students on their teaching and research needs. We provide general and subject specific research expertise while helping our patrons efficiently access and navigate our resources.
