Director of Special Collections

Currently held by Charlotte Priddle, this is the top leadership position in NYU’s renowned Department of Special Collections, which includes the Fales Library of British and American Literature, the Tamiment Collections and Wagner Labor Archives, the Downtown Collection, the Marion Nestle Food Studies Collection, the University Archives, and numerous other collections of rare and unique materials.

Conservation Librarian

Currently vacant, the Conservation Librarian will direct the conservation treatment program and the collection care program for the NYU Libraries’ rare book collection. The conservation treatment program includes materials testing and analysis that informs the plan of action to repair damaged materials from our special collections, including rare books, manuscripts, posters, artworks, and objects. The Conservation Librarian will also supervise the Special Collections conservators, project staff, fellows, and interns.

Africana and African-American Studies Librarian

Currently vacant, the Africana and African-American Studies Librarian will provide subject-specialized collection development, research support, and library instruction in the histories, political and cultural movements, institutions, and identities of Africans and the African diaspora across the globe.

Caribbean, Latin America, and Indigenous Studies Librarian

Currently vacant, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Indigenous Studies Librarian will provide subject-specialized collection development, research support, and library instruction in the histories, political and cultural movements, institutions, and identities of the Caribbean, Latin American, and Indigenous peoples across the globe.

Accessibility and Accommodations Librarian

Currently held by Lauren Kehoe, the Accessibility and Accommodations Librarian provides leadership and vision for advancing NYU Libraries’ accessibility services and programs across our departments.
