​​Reader and Borrower levels of Friends of Bobst Library are now able to use Bobst Library.
  • As per NYU's visitor guidelines, all visitors must be sponsored by an NYU employee.
  • Please contact FOBL@nyu.edu for details to get registered. Access to Bobst Library takes several working days to process.

Neighborhood residents and other members of the public can gain yearly access to the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library with a 100% tax-deductible gift to Friends of Bobst Library.

NYU alumni may receive access during summer 2023 to Bobst Library by completing the Bobst Library NYU Alumni Access Registration Form.

Please note, there are no refunds on Friends of Bobst memberships.

We do not accept cash for membership payments. You may pay with credit card or check only.

Membership expiration dates:

  • April 30, 2024 for gifts made 2/1/23 - 4/30/23
  • July 31, 2024 for gifts made 5/1/23 - 9/30/23

Please email FOBL@nyu.edu for information about getting sponsored by an NYU staff member upon making your gift.

  • Online - Fill out the online giving form

  • Mail - Send your check made out to “New York University” to:

The library is open to Friends of Bobst Library members during regular hours. Please be sure to check this link frequently, as our hours of operation are subject to change.

The Elmer Holmes Bobst Library offers:

  • Onsite access to thousands of electronic resources and databases and 10 floors of open-stack shelving. Note: some business databases, including Bloomberg, are not available for Friends access.

  • Wireless internet access and over 150 computer stations.

  • Convenient Greenwich Village location with inspiring views of Washington Square Park.
