Part II: Published Material
Primary Sources: Internet Sources
BobCat will have records for many electronic resources that can be used as primary source
material. If there is no record in BobCat, using the methods described in the last section,
then you may wish to search on the web.
Most primary source texts available online were first published before the early 1920s.
Under copyright law, these documents are now considered part of the public domain, and there
are no restrictions on their use and duplication. Before beginning a search, you may wish
to consult the meta-sites and links available from the History Pages Internet
Resources.
If you would like to search for more, try a good search engine like
Google and perform a phrase
search (in quotes) for the material you need.
Searching via keyword or phrase via one of the many Internet search engines
can be frustrating if you are looking for a specific type of information.
Keep in mind that each search engine covers different websites, and each
uses a different method for retrieving information. Check Search Engine
Watch for more information about best strategies for different search engines.
