Study Spaces

There are many study space options in Bobst Library, including the collaborative Research Commons, Lower Levels (LL) 1 & 2 (open 24 hours) and the North Reading Rooms, on floors 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. Spaces below include group and individual study rooms and graduate spaces. Most require advance registration, and a NetID and password. 


Group Study Rooms

  • Locations: The Brine Library Commons (Lower Levels (LL) 1 and 2), and the 9th floor
  • Amenities: Whiteboards, an LCD display monitor or a pulldown screen
  • Access: Reserve a Group Study Room (NYU NetID required)


Individual Study Rooms


There are a number of Graduate Student only study space options.  


Graduate Collaborative Spaces 

  • Locations: Lower Level (LL) 1, 4th floor, 6th floor
  • Amenities: Whiteboards, large tables, LCD screens or projectors) 
  • Access: Reserve a Graduate Collaborative Space (NYU NetID required) 


Graduate Exchange

  • Locations: 10th floor
  • Amenities: Open seating, power, writable walls & tables
  • Access: Swipe access for Graduate Students; not reservable 


Dissertation Writers Room

  • Location: 4th and 5th floors
  • Amenities: Personal mobile storage cabinet or a locker, single seating (10 partitioned desks, available on a first come basis), wireless. 
  • Access: Apply for Access
