Online Recalls and Offsite Storage Requests

Instructions for placing a recall on a book that is currently checked out or requesting material from offsite are the same.

Only Bobst, New School, Mannes, and Parsons Libraries materials may be recalled electronically. If the item you need is owned by another library, please recall it there. Contact information for all BobCat-participating libraries is available under "library locations."

Instructions

  1. Search for the title you need in BobCat. Check on the "check library holdings (getit)" link. Please note: If the link reads "Available in your library" or "Available in consortium" than you do not need to place a request. You can pick these item up at the lending library.

  2. Select "Request" next to the item you wish to recall or request from off-site

  3. You will then be prompted to enter your University ID number and the first four letters of your last name*. If your last name consists of three letters or less, you can simply use your full last name.
    *Note: this step is unnecessary if you have already logged in.

  4. Press the "Order" button at the bottom of the page.

    Select your book request

  5. Press the "Order" button again.

  6. We will send you and email once your request is available for pick up.
