NYU students, faculty, and staff can borrow a Mac or PC laptop from Bobst and Dibner Libraries.

Laptops have wireless Internet access and printing capability, and include productivity software (word processing, etc.).

Bobst Library Laptops

Borrowers who wish to renew any items must do so in person with all borrowed items in hand at the BLCC desk. Please note, only Bobst Library laptops are renewable.

Graduate Overnight Laptop Loans at Bobst

Bobst Library offers overnight Mac laptop loans to NYU graduate students. Laptops can be borrowed up to 1 hour prior to BLCC’s closing, and must be returned by the due time listed on the loan receipt. Graduate student loans are renewable based on demand and inventory. Mac laptop loans include a charger.

Dibner Library Laptops

Dibner has a small number of laptops available for overnight loan, obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can borrow laptops up to 3 hours prior to closing, and must return them within 2 hours of the Library’s opening the following day.

Loan Terms & Fines

  • The Borrower of the item(s) is responsible for returning all items directly to the Bobst Library Computer Center, or the Public Service Desk at Dibner Library.

  • Item(s) checked out are for the Borrower’s use only.

  • Borrowers will be fined the replacement cost of up to $2000.00 for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged.

Bobst late fines accrue at a rate of 25 cents per minute, to a maximum of $40.00 for laptops and $20.00 for each peripheral.

Bobst graduate student overnight late fines accrue at a rate of $20.00 per day, to a maximum of $60.00. Overnight peripheral fines accrue at a rate of $20.00 per day, to a maximum of $60.00.

Dibner late fines accrue at a rate of 33 cents per minute, to a maximum of $50.00 for laptops and $50.00 for each peripheral.

Please note, noncompliance with the above conditions can result in the suspension of the use of Bobst Library Services and/or New York University Facilities.
