When requested by instructors, the Libraries keeps some course-related items on reserve; this means they can be checked out for short periods of time (2 hours to 3 days, depending on material type).
Course Reserves materials include print items (available at Bobst, Dibner, Courant, and Brause Libraries), as well as audio and video items, and music books and scores (available at the Avery Fisher Center (AFC)).
Finding Materials on Reserve
1. Select the Course Reserves tab in BobCat and search for your item by Instructor, Course Number, or Material (i.e., author, title, etc.):
2. Click on the item listed for your course to view details, including call numbers. Note down the item call number.
3. Note down the location. In the GetIt! record, the item on reserve will list the location as either BRES Reserve Collection (Bobst Library), NYU Bern Dibner Library Course Reserve or NYU Bobst Avery Fisher Center Reserve.
4. To borrow Course Reserves materials:
For print items in Bobst Library, give the call number to a staff member at Circulation & Reserves (Bobst Library, Floor 1).
For audio, video and music items, give the call number to a staff member at the AFC (Bobst Library, Floor 2).
For print items in Dibner Library, give the author’s name to a staff member at the Service Desk (Dibner Library, Floor 3).
