When requested by instructors, the Libraries keeps some course-related items on reserve; this means they can be checked out for short periods of time (2 to 4 hours).
Finding Materials on Reserve
1. Select the Course Reserves tab in BobCat and search for your item by Instructor, Course Number, or Material (i.e., author, title):
2. Click on the item listed for your course to view details, including call numbers. Note down the item call number.
3. Note down the location. In the GetIt! record, the item on reserve will list the location as either BRES Reserve Collection (Bobst), NYU Bern Dibner Library Course Reserve or NYU Bobst Avery Fisher Center Reserve.
4. To borrow Course Reserves materials:
For print items in Bobst, give the call number to a staff member at Circulation & Reserves (Bobst Library, Floor 1).
For audio, video and music items, give the call number to a staff member at the Avery Fisher Center (AFC) (Bobst Library, Floor 2).
For print items in Bern Dibner, give the author’s name to a staff member at the Service Desk (Dibner Library, Floor 3).
Bobst and Dibner reserve items may be taken out of their respective libraries.
AFC reserve items are for library use only and may not leave the building.
All reserve items must be returned and checked in at the service counter of the location from which they were borrowed.
Late returns will result in a fine of $2.50 per hour. See more fines information here.
