These resources can help you get an overview of a topic; define terms, theories, and persons in the field; and provide you with further readings on each subject. Using a reference resource in your research is especially useful at the beginning of a project, when it can help you focus your activities.   Provides citations to educational materials indexed by the U.S. Department of Education's Educational Resources Information Center. These include articles appearing in more than 700 journals and hundreds of significant research reports (federal, state and local) covering all aspects of the field of education. Includes abstracts.
• Education Full Text
  (NYU students, faculty and staff only)
  Provides citations and full text from English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere. English-language books relating to education published in 1995 or later are also indexed, Abstracts range from 50 to 300 words and describe the content and scope of the source documents. Full-text coverage begins in January 1996.

  Covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines. Worldwide coverage of over 1300 journals in over 20 languages, as well as books and chapters in books in the English language.
• ArticleFirst

  An OCLC index of articles from nearly 12,500 journals, ArticleFirst covers topics such as business, humanities, medicine, popular culture, science, social sciences, and technology. Includes items listed on the table of contents pages of journals. Describes one article, news story, letter, or other item from a journal in each record. Provides a list of libraries that have the journal title for most items.
• Children's Literature Comprehensive Database

  The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD), an acquisition, research, and reference service that offers 900,000 MARC records and more than 130,000 reviews of children's books.
• Wilson Omnifile Full Text Mega Edition

  Contains indexed and abstracted articles from periodicals, all with ASCII full text online. The database is comprised of selected records from the following H.W. Wilson databases: Readers' Guide Abstracts, Social Sciences Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, General Science Abstracts and Wilson Business Abstracts.
