MAP World Cultures: Ancient Israel > Searching for Articles
Prof. Fleming. Fall, 1999
Finding journal articles in a library requires you to use an index. An index will generally provide citations to articles in newspapers, magazines, journals, chapters in books, or other documents. Sometimes, electronic indexes provide the full text of an article directly.
The following two indexes are available electronically. You may also want to search in some print indexes held by Bobst, or other more specialized indexes. If you have questions about additional resources available, ask a reference librarian on the 1st floor.
- ProQuest
An interdisciplinary index to thousands of English-language journals and magazines, including leading journals in history, philosophy, art, literature, and religion. Most coverage begins with articles written in 1985. Many titles are available in full text.
- ATLA Religion Database
The ATLA Religion Database consists of more than 990,000 records covering the research literature of religion in over 30 languages from 1,400 international journals and 14,000 multi-author works in and related to the field of religion. Covering 1949 to present.
