PAPERBACK BINDING Paperback covers provide little protection to the text block of a book. These examples illustrate the vulnerability of an aging paperback and the poor quality of a new paperback split at the spine before it even reached the librarys shelf. In keeping with good binding practice, our current policy at Bobst is to hardcover bind paperbacks as soon as they are cataloged (and before they are shelved) to ensure the longevity of the volume.
