RECASING USING THE ORIGINAL COVER AND ENDPAPERS A number of the bindings in our circulating collections are examples for development in the craft of bookbinding, cover and endpaper design. In order to preserve this kind of evidence, an attempt is made to recase as many of these books using as many of the original parts as possible. The text block of the example shown here received a similar treatment as the recasing sample, but the original cover and endpapers were reinforced with matching Japanese paper and reused.
