HYGROTHERMOGRAPH A hygrothermograph measures temperature and relative humidity and records it on a scaled paper chart. The chart is attached to a mechanized cylinder that turns to record this information on a daily basis for up to a week. The pen recording the relative humidity is attached to a set of human hairs which expand and contract in response to fluctuating moisture levels in the air. Hygrothermographs should be recalibrated periodically to maintain accuracy.

At Bobst, hygrothermographs are deployed in several areas of the library to monitor environmental conditions. Significant fluctuations in temperature and relative humidity are immediately reported and corrected by building management staff.
