AUTOMATED STAMPING Because it is so much more efficient, the automated method of stamping is used to letter the spines of all the librarys commercially bound materials. Spine information for monographs are individually typed into the computer. The Librarys serial titles are conveniently stored in the computers memory. When the binder receives a shipment of serials from the library, the NYU database is loaded into the computer with the formatted title information ready for printing.
