Data Service Studio

The Data Service Studio on the sixth floor of Bobst Library provides expert staff and access to software, statistical computing, geographical information systems analysis, data collection resources, and data management services all in support quantitative research at NYU. The ITS/Libraries facility features a 10-seat work and instruction space where students and faculty can receive consultation and resources in statistical analysis and geographic information systems (GIS), and gain access to a variety of software for statistical, qualitative, and GIS analysis (SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, ESRI GIS products, Matlab, and others).

 

Consultation is available by appointment thru the online request form, via email (data.service@nyu.edu), telephone (212-998-3434), or on a walk-in basis. Information on upcoming tutorials, clinics, and other events is available by subscribing to the ITS/FTS Statistics and GIS Group Listserv at: statistics@forums.nyu.edu (send a blank e-mail, or sign up for the list using the NYU Home portal).

  • Staff is available for consultation on:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 12pm - 6pm
    Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12pm - 8pm

  • Additionally, the studio workstations are available for walk-in use whenever the library stacks are open.

  • Computer Use Policy

    The studio computers may be used by NYU faculty and students on a walk-in basis. However, workstations can be reserved by NYU faculty and students for data and statistical projects by contacting a consultant or using the web appointment form. Users working without reservations will be asked to relocate to another workstation when a computer has been reserved for project use.
